Mary Lou Milner Carver Endowed Professorship in Art History – Native American Art
Position: Nine-month, tenure-track faculty position in Art History with a specialization in Native American Art.
Rank: Rank and salary commensurate with experience
Starting Date: August 16, 2008
Minimum Qualifications:
Ph.D. in Art History; ABD with completion date before July 1, 2009 may be considered. Record of outstanding teaching and research.
Desired Qualifications:
National reputation of scholarly research and publications. Record of teaching at the graduate level. Experience in directing doctoral dissertations and committee service.
Responsibilities: Teach and develop undergraduate and graduate level classes in art history, specifically in Native American Art and Art of the American West. Engage in scholarly research and publication, serve on masters and doctoral committees and direct doctoral dissertations.

The School of Art is the largest, most comprehensive art school in Oklahoma having a faculty of 27 full-time artists, designers, scholars, and the Charles M. Russell Center for the Study of Art in the American West, serving approximately 400 undergraduate and over 30 masters level students in art history, media (film, photography and video), studio (painting, printmaking, ceramics, and sculpture) and visual communications. The School of Art is a part of the Weitzenhoffer Family College of Fine Arts, one of 20 colleges within the university. Assistant Professor – Film
Full-time, tenure-track position

The University of Oklahoma is seeking a tenure track faculty member, at the Assistant Professor or Associate Professor level, to teach in the Media area.
Job Responsibilities:
- Teach a variety of courses in filmmaking ranging from theory to practice.
- Advise undergraduate students and mentor graduate students
- Participate in curriculum review and development
- Serve on program, school and university committees
- Manage equipment inventory and upgrades with other faculty in program
- Perform all other related activities as required.
Qualifications:
Education: MFA in film, video, digital arts or related field required.
- Applicant should be a practicing artist with a demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional creative activity.
- Should have an understanding and knowledge of the practice, theory, and history of experimental film.
- Preference will be given to applicants who demonstrate skills in high definition video, lighting, editing, digital animation and related production skills.
- Teaching or demonstrated creative activity in one or more of the following areas desirable: sound, installation art, performance, special effects, animation, or other related digital arts.
- This individual will be working within an interdisciplinary academic program.
- Teaching experience at the college level and mentoring of students is preferred.

The School of Art at the University of Oklahoma seeks a tenure-track faculty member at the Assistant Professor level, to teach in an adaptive and dynamic foundations program within a research institution. Candidates must be highly motivated individuals with an interest in ongoing curriculum development. In conjunction with the major degree programs, the candidate should demonstrate creative and academic skills and the willingness to teach in a high quality foundation program. The foundation program emphasizes a creative aptitude towards design logic, problem solving, traditional and contemporary methodology regarding a variety of artistic disciplines.
Qualifications:
- MFA or equivalent
- One to three years of university/college foundation teaching experience desirable
- Competency teaching digital media/technology
- Competency teaching at least two of the following disciplines: 2D Design, Color Theory, Drawing, 3D Design or 4D Practices.
- The successful applicant must also demonstrate a commitment to art foundations education and ongoing professional creative research
