Eric Anderson was appointed to the Art faculty at the University of Oklahoma in 1990. Eric is a second generation Graphic Designer who has studied and worked with a number of significant Graphic Designers including Philip Risbeck, Thomas Coleman, and Paul Rand. He received his BFA from Colorado State University in 1976 and his MFA from Indiana University in 1979. After he finished his education, he worked as a senior Graphic Designer at IBM Corporation and at Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. Eric began his teaching at Iowa State University , and was the Distinguished Visiting Design professor at the University of Illinois , Urbana-Champaign prior to joining the OU faculty.

Eric's work has been acknowledged by Graphis, Print Magazine, the Society of Typographic Arts, the American Institute of Graphic Arts as well as by others. He has lectured widely and has been a visiting designer at Birmingham Institute of Art in the UK and at Renmin University in Beijing .

Eric currently designs for a variety of clients including the Oklahoma City Museum of Art, the Fred Jones Jr. Museum of Art, and for numerous other clients within the state and region. He and his colleagues, Karen Hayes Thumann and David Hissey, have combined to build a respected design program at the University with graduates working in most major American markets as well as in Hong Kong , UK , China , Japan , and Indonesia .

His former students currently teach at Southern Illinois University, Oklahoma City University, University of Central Oklahoma , Texas State University , Oklahoma State University and the Savannah College of Art.
