MONUMENTAL WORK IN PROGRESS
Oklahoma Land Run:
-The largest bronze sculpture in U. S. and one of largest in world will take at least 8 years to complete. Commissioned by the United States Government, the State of Oklahoma and the City of Oklahoma City. Assisting sculptor Paul Moore.
- Head of Enlargements (enlarging small sculptures to monumental scale) Shehada is officially designated to take over as head sculptor in the event Moore is unable to finish the work of the Oklahoma Centennial Land Run Monument.

TEACHING AND RELATED ACTIVITIES
Professor - Figurative Sculpture Program, School of Art, University of Oklahoma, Norman. August 2001 - present. Responsible for teaching beginning and intermediate level courses in figurative sculpture program and drawing and 3-D courses in Foundation.
Beginning Sculpture I Course – Creating in oil base clay the human skull and a life-size portrait. Also, creating a waste mold and making a plaster cast from it.
Beginning Sculpture II Course – Creating a bas–relief and sculpting the human hand and foot in oil base clay. Also, creating a slip cast mold of the bas–relief for water base clay castings.
Intermediate Sculpture I Course – Creating a plaster sculpture(s) with a foam core. Also, students will sculpt several small figurative sculptures from oil base clay.
Armatures for smaller sculptures are designed and developed for more complex compositions.
Intermediate Sculpture II Course – Larger sculptures will be created in oil base clay and plaster. Larger armatures are designed and developed for the larger compositions.
Beginning Drawing 1 Course – Expose students to basic drawing techniques and concepts.
3-D Foundation Course –Work with students on developing and understanding more complex skill level in 3D formats
African Art – exploring the art and culture of the African Continent
Research Assistant - to Artist-in Residence Paul Moore, Figurative Sculpture Program,
School of Art, University of Oklahoma, Norman. October 1999 – present.
- Responsibilities include sculpting (human and animal forms in oil base clay, water base clay, plaster and stone [Indiana limestone, granite and Colorado Yule marble]), enlarging
(laser and grid systems), armature design and construction (maquette [aluminum armatures] to monumental [welded steel plates, rebar and black pipe armatures][arc and oxy – acetylene]), wood pallet design and construction, mold-making (rubber [silicone and latex] with plaster mother molds, plaster slip cast and waste molds), polymer casting and the supervision of lost wax castings for projects (the University’s and Paul Moore’s), maintenance of the University of Oklahoma’s outdoor sculptures (cleaning, waxing [bronze sculptures] and sealant treatment [polymer casts], kiln firing and supervision of water base reliefs, designing of sculpture bases for the University of Oklahoma’s sculptures and the sculptures of Paul Moore, ordering of materials, supervisory of employees, managing and maintaining sculpture studio
.- Assisting in instruction of students in all figurative sculpture classes including beginning, intermediate, advanced, monumental & mold-making classes.
- Sculptor for various University projects: working in bronze, stone & polymer.
- Conduct instructional tours through figurative sculpture studio and the studio of sculptor Paul Moore.
